Description:
From Project Plan: XCRI and XCRI-CAP is of direct interest to all those engaged in developing a standard specification to support UWIC’s Student System Project, including the Project Manager, SSP Business Systems Analyst, Registry, QA, ISD and Marketing. The proposed mini-pilot X-CERP project will seek to apply the XCRI standard to Module and Course descriptors of Master’s programmes in Applied Professional Practice. This specific prototype implementation is based on an existing approved programme in Management currently in its early recruitment stage with a similarly structured programme in Health Sciences at an early developmental stage.
Such programmes represent an interesting exemplar for the use of XCRI-CAP in that programme description information is expected to be used to illustrate how the generic programme would be applicable to the context of a specific sectoral interest. As well as the time saved in generating such propositions there are potential advantages in terms of consistency. Employers unfamiliar with such programmes may also need to understand this form of provision and what is required of participants. Case study exemplars of the employer-contextualised instances of the process therefore have a potential long term value to new enquirers.
