Institutions participating in Stage 1 of JISC’s "Course Data: making the most of course information" programme are asked to ‘review the maturity of their management of course data using the XCRI Self Assessment Framework’. Based on the outcomes of this review, institutions will produce an implementation plan for how they will improve processes to create a system-generated course advertising feed in a XCRI CAP 1.2.
The XCRI SAF tool now also includes a Data Export option. This may be useful when producing documents for discussion and review amongst institutional teams, or for transferring the results of reviews into planning activities (for example Stage 2 Implementation Plans).
The Data Export option presents a table of your questions, answers, scores and comments in Excel or PDF format, and the data can also be copied to the clipboard for pasting into other tools. The data can also be filtered and sorted prior to exporting.
Baseline
As part of the Stage 1 activities, JISC will be producing a baseline for the maturity of course data management across the Stage 1 institutions. A ‘snapshot’ of the XCRI SAF database will be taken on the 22nd November and used to generate an aggregated, anonymised baseline of data at that point.
Once created, the baseline information will be accessible within the XCRI SAF website.
The baseline will provide a general indication of maturity for course data management across the sector and will allow institutions to compare their own position against the ‘norm’.
