Data Definitions and Vocabulary Framework
These two documents are intended to guide all projects on how to supply data content in XCRI-CAP 1.2 instances for the Course Data Programme - different clusters may have slightly different requirements within the overall specification (for example they may use different vocabularies in some areas). We envisage that they will also be used by wider communities of practice.
The 'Data Definitions' document gives specific guidance on how each element and attribute should be used. It gives details about structure of the elements, details of the format of data and whether they are optional, preferred or mandatory.
The current release version of the Data Definitions Document can be found here.
A summary table including all the elements can be found here.
A summary spreadsheet similar to the one above has also been produced for the KIS. KIS Summary Spreadsheet
The ‘Vocabulary Framework for Course Data Programme' document provides guidance on the appropriate creation, publication and maintenance of vocabularies for XCRI-CAP 1.2 instances produced via the Programme. Its purpose is to assist publishers of XCRI-CAP vocabularies to provide necessary information, maintenance, format and quality for their users. We envisage that where specific communities of practice emerge, there may be some variations in the detail of content (for example, different vocabularies may be used), within the constraints of XCRI-CAP 1.2.
The current release version of the Vocabulary Framework document can be found here.
