Assessing Readiness
Lining up your key personnel and using the questions in the XCRI Self-assessment Framework (collectively or individually) can be a good starting point for assessing your organisations readiness for implementing XCRI-CAP. Discussions on the issues raised can help to develop a collective and considered view of the institution's situation. This view can then lead to an action plan or similar start-up activities for planning for change.
We recommend 2 or 3 workshops with the project team. In the first one brief the group on the purpose of XCRI-CAP, what it is (and isn’t) and to initiate an introductory discussion on your particular institutional priorities. Use the XCRI-CAP Self-assessment Framework as a discussion tool to work through your individual XCRI-CAP requirements. The Framework contains questions and pointers which cross the institution and is intended to instigate discussions and material for your self-assessment and subsequent actions that you, as an institution, decide to undertake. Your action plan and XCRI-CAP implementation road map can be produced using your workshop outputs.
Your responses to the XCRI-CAP Self-assessment Framework can be saved and returned to at any time. The ‘Summary’ tab will present a traffic light Red, Amber, Green coded overview as to the progress in your institution towards a full XCRI-CAP implementation.
It is important to stress that at this stage every response need not be ‘green’ before you can proceed with full implementation. Rather, it presents suggestions to inform your individual roadmap and set of actions.
