Title: OXCRI, University of Oxford mini-project report

hyperlink image Link: http://projects.oucs.ox.ac.uk/oxcri/report.html

Description:
Oxford University Computing Services, working with Oxford University Careers Service and Department of Continuing Education, have created REST web services to deliver information about CPD courses from university departments using the XCRI format.

The main data delivery has used PHP templates in front of a relational database; we have also experimented with HTML scraping, conversion to XML and dynamic filtering using XSLT.

In addition to data provision, we have:
  1. re-implemented the XCRI CAP schema in the ISO RELAX NG schema language
  2. enhanced the XCRI CAP schema with Schematron rules to implement business logic, and tested dual-mode validation using ISO NVDL
  3. written filters to display XCRI data in KML format on Google Earth and Google Maps
